Grace Kukri House (Khukuri Craft Pvt. Ltd.), based in Kathmandu, Nepal, proudly presents the Service No.1 Kukri — one of the most iconic and historically significant kukri designs ever made. Hand-forged by expert Nepali bladesmiths using time-honored techniques passed down through generations, this kukri is a true symbol of Nepali craftsmanship and heritage.
Crafted from 5160 high-grade carbon steel (vehicle leaf springs), this blade is heat-treated and tempered to deliver outstanding edge retention and toughness. This is a fully functional working blade — not a decorative piece — arriving sharp and ready for outdoor and utility use.
The signature notch (Kaudi) near the blade's hilt is a traditional design element with both functional and cultural significance, a hallmark of authentic Nepali kukri craftsmanship.
Blade: 10 inches, made from 5160 high-grade carbon steel (leaf spring), heat-treated and tempered.
Handle: 5 inches, rat-tail tang, crafted from genuine buffalo horn for a traditional look and firm grip.
Blade Width (belly): Approx. 4.6 cm (46 mm)
Blade Thickness (spine): Approx. 0.7 cm (7 mm)
Hardness: Edge hardened to 58–60 HRC for superior edge retention.
Scabbard: Handmade from cottonwood, wrapped in premium black buffalo leather.
Includes two traditional side tools: Karda (small utility knife) and Chakmak (sharpening steel).
Care and Maintenance:
Apply light oil or blade lubricant monthly or after use.
Avoid touching the blade with bare fingers after oiling.
For storage, oil thoroughly and store outside the scabbard in a dry place.
Clean regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
Keep out of reach of children — this is a sharp tool, not a toy.
